Contoocook, NH 5 miles
Glorious sunny, dry weather graced the 4th of July River Scramble on the Contoocook River, as 60 paddlers churned up the otherwise calm waters in hot pursuit of each other. Canoeists and kayakers, most of whom selected the paddle, non-swim classes, competed in challenging intra and inter-class races. Paddlers and their families detailed their racing experiences afterwards at the Reinertsen's, while consuming large quantities of roast turkey, salads, breads, dips and chips and desserts.
