Bolton Sunset Canoe & Kayak Race
8/17/2005

An almost-full moon was rising over the Bolton Lake state boat launch as 46 paddlers from 17 CT, 17 MA & 2 NH towns headed for home.  Dave Spaulding, former Olympic Trials winner provided some interest paddling a 'high kneel' canoe.  Bill Baker, Green Harbor, MA, recorded the fastest time with 57:53.  Immaculada Jackman, 13, of South Windsor, CT won the "Kenyon Kup" (Named for Ted Kenyon Sr., founder of the race) with the fastest novice time of 49:56 (short course).  It was a beautiful summer evening and we thank all the participants as well as the 'crew' and the many spectators at the launch and around the lakes.  See you next year for the 23rd Annual Bolton Sunset Race!
